An embarrassing Confession ~ Koreshan State Park (Zach)
Let me tell you a little story of my life... I don’t know if this happens in every line of work, but let me elaborate... Do hair dressers have kids or spouses with un-groomed hair? Do painters get around to painting their own house? Do chefs come home from work and prepare a home-cooked meal? Do doctors have sick kids? ... uhm, maybe it doesn’t work that way for doctors! But, do you see what I’m getting at?
Well, do photographers create amazing photographs of their family and hang gorgeous art work on their walls? or maybe their amazing family images are bound in exquisite albums? Yes, I know some that do. Uhhhm, me not so much!!! And yes, I’m making an embarrassing confession!!! o_O
I create beautiful art work of amazing people with interesting stories and lives. However, when it comes to my own, I slack a bit. My problem is finding time! Helloooo, that’s my biggest enemy! I get so focused and occupied with projects, client shoots, and work, work, work, that sometimes I forget to stop and spend time on my own personal stuff. Don’t get me wrong, I do have a few albums and pictures hanging on my wall. But, lately I’ve been feeling guilty because I haven’t created anything to refresh and update some of the walls arounds here.... and well, some of them are just plain blank!
So I’m making a resolution right here, right now! I’m to create artwork using some of the many beautiful images I’ve taken of my family and I will proudly display them on my walls around here. I even have my own family portrait session scheduled for the next month or so. I can’t wait!
Talking about sessions.... here’s one I’ve been wanting to share for quite some time. I took my son out for a photo shoot (as I like to do at least twice a year) at the Koreshan Historic State Park in Estero. These images were taken back in January. And it’s not until now that I’m able to edit/retouch them.
This shoot was inspired by a ‘cowboy’ theme party we had a few months before.
