A Pretty Lady & Persevering Pays ~ Karina (Glamour Session)

Happy Hump Day Everyone!!!

I am particularly fond of Wednesdays.  It puts my week in perspective... I look back to what I've done so far and prepare to accomplish even more in the next few days before the weekend.  Wednesday is my "push forward" day!

Today I want to share a glamour shoot I've been wanting to share for some time.  Let me explain how this one unfolded.  First, I should mention who this pretty lady is... for those of you who might not know, this is my sister-in-law Karina, who is a photographer as well.  She loves photographing families, children, and woman who are expecting.  Oh, and tender newborn babies (who doesn't love those tiny toes and precious bums)!

At some point, we both came across Sue Bryce's glamour photography... (we were both blown away and wanted to be part of it).  So we agreed it would be a fun experience to work together in planing a couple of photoshoots for the pure enjoyment of experimentation, learning, and exploration.  Prior to doing any of the fun stuff, we first brainstormed, researched, worked, inquired, dreamed, studied, worked some more, fantasized a little (ok maybe a lot... mostly me!), and worked, worked, worked!  One important element of our planning was finding a makeup artist & hair stylist.  I soon realized that the market was saturated with makeup artists, with only a few that have talent and even fewer that can work on hair too.  After persevering, we met Venessa Gutierrez, who proved to be both talented and skillful at her art.   A special part of a glamour shoot is the 'pampering session' the ladies receive right before they have fun in front of the camera.  And Vanessa accomplished this beautifully!

So Karina and I had to give the pampering session a try.... and of course, a bit of photoshooting afterwards!  That's how I ended up in front of the camera.  It was not only fun, but also educational.  Now I want to do it all the time!!!

These are some of the images I captured of Karina.  We really enjoyed it, and I hope we can do it again soon.  Even though it was a lot of work, it was well worth it!!
